HPDC – Process Design

The scope of this 2-day seminar is to provide both direct and indirect users with a broad overview of the process information required for the development of high pressure die castings. This seminar will guide the attendee in developing an optimized casting design with the desired alloy. The required die size along with the die materials will be reviewed to obtain a robust process. Guidelines will be provided in creating a process window based on the quality and casting process requirements. After these have been determined, the attendee will investigate the selection of machine(s) via PQ2, clamping force, shot design and shot curve design. Upon completion, the attendee should be able to design a die casting process around a given die casting.
