Casting Simulation Network Launches in S.A.

Germany/South Africa, July 2015. The recently inaugurated South African Casting Simulation Network (CSN) is part of a government supported program involving the Department of Science and Technology, the Technology Localisation Implementation Unit, associated universities and MAGMA’s South African Partner Ametex. Its main focus is giving access to casting process simulation by providing mentored services to the industry. Participating South African universities provide infrastructure and offer graduate students the opportunity to increase their skills in the usage of MAGMA5, as well as being absorbed by the industry. MAGMA partner Ametex has a crucial role in the project, conducting trainings, conveying technical aspects as well as mentoring the universities throughout each project in all relevant aspects.

According to Minister of Science and Technology, Naledi Pandor, the initiative will enhance South African companies‘ capabilities to access contracts, create more jobs and contribute to economic growth and knowledge-based activities.

As a centerpiece of the CSN, MAGMASOFT® has helped lead to an impromptu acceptance of the network in the industry, which is already providing remarkable benefits for the involved companies.
