GEMS

MAGMA and our sister company SIGMA participated in the career fair portion of the GEMS conference. We set up a tabletop with both castings and injection molded parts along with laptops showing MAGMASOFT® autonomous engineering and SIGMASOFT® Virtual Molding in action. The career fair showed the girls different opportunities for careers in STEM industries and each table was hosted by a woman in a STEM career. The girls then went on to learn about careers in technology, engineering, math and science by actively participating in hands-on breakout sessions.  They rotated through activities taught by women in fields such as structural design, polymers, robotics, technology and biomedical engineering.

The girls that attend this event are usually good in math and science, but need to know what they can do with that knowledge.  This is a great age to educate the girls as they begin to think about junior high and high school courses.  It is a wonderful opportunity that enables girls to explore the possibilities for potential careers in STEM fields while in a controlled, safe environment. MAGMA and SIGMA were happy to be part of such a wonderful event.
